Coronavirus Update

Dear Valued Patient,

We hope this message finds you well. Our community has been through a lot over the last few months. While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to the health and safety of our patients and staff. In response to COVID-19, we would like to assure you that we are taking extra precautions to protect you and our team. We are cleaning all surfaces continuously throughout the day, and providing more spacing between patients in the treatment areas. If you are bringing in a patient, we recommend waiting in your car and we will be happy to call when the appointment is over. If we can accommodate you in any other way, please let us know.

Our office is following all recommended guidance from public health authorities in compliance with the guidelines issued by the CDC, OSHA, ADA, and the Governor of Virginia. We’ve implemented a COVID-19 specific protocol, including instrument disinfection, social distancing, thorough surface cleaning, and treatment area sanitization between patients.  We are going beyond recommended guidelines in our office by using a hyper Hepa/H13 air purification system, having patients rinse with a disinfecting mouthwash, and using a pulse oximeter to detect early signs of viral infection by measuring a patient's blood oxygen level. We will be spacing appointments to provide time for proper sanitization and to limit the number of people in the office during COVID-19.

In order to conduct our practice in a manner that safeguards the safety, health, and welfare of our patients and public, you will see some changes when it is time for your next appointment. We made these changes to help protect our patients and staff.

For example:

  • Our front office will communicate with you over the phone before your appointment to ask some screening questions and make updates to your file.

  • All forms, payments, and agreements will be completed by email or phone before entering the office.

  • On the day of your appointment, we ask that you check in for your appointment by phone and remain in your car.

  • We will request that you wear a mask to your appointment and keep it on until instructed otherwise by our staff.

  • Your temperature will be taken when you arrive at the office, and you will be provided with hand sanitizer.

  • We will have patients rinse with a disinfecting mouthwash.

  • Your blood oxygen level will be measured using a pulse oximeter.

  • Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing and thorough sanitization between patients. We appreciate your patience while we navigate the new “normal”.

We look forward to seeing you again and are happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps we take to keep you, and every patient, safe in our practice. To make an appointment, please call our office at 703-471-8333.

Thank you for being our patient. We value your trust and loyalty and look forward to welcoming you back.

Sincerely,

Greater Reston Herndon Orthodontics
